First Things First
A proper warm-up will reduce your risk of injury and enhance the quality of your workout. Five to ten minutes of low intensity exercise such as walking, jogging or biking is enough to raise your body temperature. You should break a light sweat, but not feel exhausted or out of breath.
It is important to stretch and move each joint through its complete range of motion. This will help prevent injuries and increase your range of motion.
Lastly, after your workout it is crucial to cool down. You can choose to either walk, bike, or the activity that you just finished at low intensity. This will bring your body to a normal resting state. Cool down until your heart rate returns to approximately 100 beats per minute or less.
